PHOTO EDITING
For over a century, photography has been a key element in design. I love the early photo manipulations and experiments of Rodchenko, Moholy Nagy and other innovators of the Bauhaus. For the images below, created for the author Mona Awad’s website, I pushed the colors beyond the point of saturation, creating an almost toxic neon feel, which thematically corresponds to the “monstrous cute” qualities of the author’s bestselling novel, BUNNY, and her newest release, ROUGE.
The images were heavily manipulated in Photoshop, using blend modes and color/hue settings to achieve an eerie, yet vivid, look-and-feel.
