In the spring of 2020, I was asked to create the look-and-feel, as well as all the design deliverables, for the School of Communications and the Arts annual SoCA DAY event. The day-long event offers alternative learning setting, featuring speakers and alums, with content tailored to Communications and Design students. This year, the event committee wanted to look to the future, conveying a sense of forward-thinking and an embracing of new and emerging media tools and storytelling methodologies.
I used vibrant colors, blurs, half-tone textures and black tape highlights to create a youthful gaming aesthetic with a nod towards Swiss Design. Materials included an eight-panel brochure, social media ads (Twitter, Instagram), a promotional motion graphics video, plasma screen ads, posters, and event day one-sheets and PowerPoint backgrounds.
